Tonight is the January Full Moon. It has me thinking and daydreaming back to my life before children, whenI would spend winter nights backcountry skiing... Full moon nights were prized and revered in the winter, giving light to night time wanderings in the mountains. Skiing at night is peaceful, quite, natural. There is something magical about a forest covered in snow in the middle of the night with moonlight making the snow sparkle all around you. It is a time of magic, the beginning of "East of the Sun, West of the Moon" and of simplicity and peace. Tonight, as I type away on my current addiction, THE COMPUTER, as the tv is blaring in the background, the washing machine, dryer and dishwasher are humming and my two kids are asleep in their beds I pay tribute to a life past, to the energy and peace I found being outside in the middle of the night... and maybe sending out a wish for the future... that someday I will again ski mountains... under the magical night of the winter full moon. If you can, tonight, go outside and bath in the magical light of the January full moon. There are only two full moons left until spring... take advantage of them!
