The Rainbow Spectrum

Adi had the idea first. She was laying on the floor of the living room so that the rainbow that was a result of the sun shining through the prism hanging in the window splayed across her arms.  "Look Mom!" she cried in delight, "Granny is hugging me!"  It was a few weeks after our Granny had passed away and we had brought the prisms that her hanging in her home to our house. To hang in our windows.  And then when they made rainbows we all said that Granny was visiting us, through the rainbows.  Adi moved just a bit, and the rainbow slipped across her body and hugged her smile. I took a picture.

The rainbow spectrum project was born.  I started taking photos of children in rainbows, loving the way that the rainbows played across the faces.

I'd love to be able to set up a photography studio that could help me take rainbow portraits.  I bet with some help from an experienced light guy, we could make some GREAT rainbows (think as big as a garage) to have people stand in... I'm seeing a maternity shoot with a mama's expecting belly covered in an enormous rainbow.

I'd love to photograph all ages of people in my rainbows.....  imagine what a 90 year old woman's face would look like with a rainbow covering it...

I'd love to hang a photograph show somewhere in town that is labeled "The Rainbw Connection"

for the lovers, the dreamers... and me.
