Trick or Treat
this year we drove to Carbondale so we could go house to house trick or treat. See, in Steamboat, main street is closed down and everyone heads downtown for some fun. Kids trick or treat from store to store, teenagers roam around in large throngs, families dress up in theme costumes. It's fun, a lot of fun. Buuuuuuut, I thought it might be fun for Theo and Adi to experience the house to house tradition of trick or treat. So, we drove to Carbondale and went off on an adventure. Adi was the Sugar Plum Fairy. Theo was a white ninja, but was very envious of Adi's lollipop magic wand. We stopped at Barbara's house first (of course) and then with a few friends in tow, we set off. And it was fun. Quiet, calm, a somewhat less..... chaotic experience. Adi loved it, she said she wanted to do house to house trick or treat every year. Theo.... wanted the lollipop magic wand. When we got back home and I saw the pictures of the fun that everyone had in Steamboat I was a bit wistful of what we had missed. But, house to house was fun too. ... what about in your town? How does your family celebrate Halloween?
